Stillframes in mind

Life is not measured by how many breaths you take. It's measured by the moments that take your breaths away.

This trip took many breaths away.

Day 1
Sitting beside Mich & Mel in planes takes a toll on my stomach (I laugh too hard)

This messy hotel room was meant for 2. We squeezed 6.

So we talked all night
About the rest of our lives
What we're going to be
When we turn 25

Day 2
We went to River Kwai and we travelled on the Death railway. I saw beautiful picture perfect sceneries and had a look on the simple life these farmers have. I saw impossibly vast sky with fluffy clouds and a delighful blue. I saw rows and rows of corn and crops. But farmers see rows and rows of hope. I think it'd be amazing to live there in the countryside to get away from the city life with someone you love. Geez, daydreams.

Went to Srinakam Dam and we climbed to the top to play. The rest stayed at the bottom while Mr Low and Mr Teo started to develop their interest in stone throwing in the water.

What did the cave do to the sign maker. No profanities!

Had a night walk through parts of the park. It was so dark we had to make a human chain to stop anyone from falling. I swear my arms got longer.

A look at the girl's dorm! So huge and 1 to a bed. Was scared of sleeping alone. I had insomnia. People sleeptalked. The beds creaked. But sleeping on the top bunk was kinda cool :D

Day 3

Some shots taken during Erawan waterfall mountail climb

Day 4

We had a school visit and the 50 over of us stood in a small pickup. We sang and cheered every single thing we learnt in DHS. The feeling was comforting. My buddy in school was cute and good in english! We had to plant a tree and she was undaunted by this wiggling worm. I had to take a lot of mindpower to not say anything. We played soccer and volleyball to interact and Team-04 won their first overseas match with the volleyball powerhouse country :D We BBQ-ed corn too!

We trekked to Prathat cave about 500m from the school and we had to climb uphill. There was a mist enveloping the mountain and it was like walking into a fairytale. The climb was difficult and taxing on the legs. You had to hoist your entire body mass up rocks and twigs. The cave was cooling and clean, and the temperature dropped drastically it was like air-conditioned. Mr Low had steam coming from himself cos his gallons of sweat evaporated quickly. The rock formations were amazing, there were this statue of a God, dinosaurs, woman with long hair, glittering rocks, skulls, a duck etc. Mr Tan Tui Gee kept asking us to pose here and there. There were many group shots this whole trip. The cave itself was pitch dark if not for the kerosene lamps. It was vast and enormous. We were walking in near silence other than sighs of admiration and amazement because we were overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of nature.

Day 5

We had a good lunch at Massari before having a food shopping spree in the mart adjoining the restaurant. After that we went to a mall and had a shopping spree and we went back to the Chaleena to have a steamboat-bbq-buffet dinner while watching a Switz match on a big screen. Karen (my group) went to Karm's and Amanda's room to have a group reflection and we had a hilarious time protecting ourselves from robbers and rapists. Then we gayed around and talked and laughed somemore. It was nice :D James kept taking shots of everyone hence these pictures.

Day 6

We could wake up late cos breakfast was at 9 and I was blitzing around the messy room looking for my stuff and I had to struggle with my suitcase. After that, airport! The cameras were very busy :D

These moments frozen in time says a lot, tells a story. But what I've said only touched the tip of the iceberg. There were group games (the egg and blind soccer), there were unofficial games (soccer: Team-04 vs teachers, instructors and Ben & MQ), there was the meals (especially the one in the night, under the sky on grass with candles), there was the nightwalk, stargazing, story telling, dances and funny happenings. There were the insects and their bites, the clean toilets and nice food. There were the long travelling times and long bus rides (We slept, ate, played and gayed). There were amazing people, amazing sights. There was the love, bonds and smiles no words can describe. These are the days worth living and remembering.
